Patrol Officer

The City offers an excellent benefits package including health and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, on-going training. 

Minimum Requirements: 

Must be at least 21 and up to 35 years of age on the date of the written examination. High School Diploma or GED required. Must have a valid Driver’s License and be a U.S. Citizen.  

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine and moderately complex tasks: enforces State criminal and vehicle statutes, enforces parking and other ordinances; performs duties associated with traffic control; completes, prepares and files reports and maintains records; testifies in criminal and traffic cases.


Community Service Officer

Minimum Requirements

Must have a HS diploma or GED, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have a Valid State Driver's License.  

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine and moderately complex tasks to assist Police and Fire personnel; enforces parking and other ordinances; performs duties associated with traffic and animal control; completes, prepares and files reports and maintains records.


Parking Enforcement Officer

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.  High School Diploma or GED required.  Must have a Valid State Driver's License. 

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, monitors business and other assigned parking areas within the City; issues citations for violations of parking ordinances; immobilizes vehicles as appropriate in compliance with all applicable ordinances and codes; assists police and fire personnel as needed.


Police Information Technician

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.  High School Diploma or GED required.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, serves as a liaison between patrol, dispatch and the general public to provide information, assistance, communication and assure officer safety for the Police Department.


Police Records Technician

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma of GED; and three to six months related experience; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, enters and retrieves data into computer system(s); files essential records; deals with the public and other law enforcement agencies in providing information.


School Crossing Guard

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED (desirable).

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs duties associated with assuring the safety of children at designated street crossings.
